When I discovered my passion for BBQ in the 1990s, everything started. As a salesman in the Chicagoland region, I would hunt down the finest BBQ restaurants and sample every type the city has to offer. I began to develop a pretty good palate for what I believed was good barbeque. Following that, I had a thought: I could handle this. I increasingly started preparing barbeque at home, experimenting with various rubs and blending my own flavors.
Lewis and Clark were the subjects of a documentary that was released in the late 1990s. I discovered they hunted beavers as I was observing. That was how Beaver Rub BBQ got its start. Unmistakably a word play. My enthusiasm for cooking and barbecuing has evolved over the last 30 years.
